Rollout Systems is currently hiring a Technical Help Desk Specialist for the F-35 JSF IT contract which currently has several years left on the contract. We are providing knowledge-based, information assurance and cybersecurity IT services to the F-35 JSF Virtual Enterprise (JVE) network in support of the F-35 Lightning II Joint Program Office (JPO). This position is located at Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, MD in Southern Maryland.

As a Technical Help Desk Specialist, you will:
  • Provide technical assistance to computer users.
  • Answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, or via telephone or electronically.
  • May provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems to other individuals on the Joint Strike Fighter program.
  • Respond to and diagnoses problems through discussion with contract users.
  • Ensure a timely process through which problems are controlled. Includes problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up steps.
  • Supervise operation of help desk and serves as focal point for customer concerns.
  • Provide support to end users on a variety of issues. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems.
  • Respond to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support.
  • Document, track, and monitor the problem to ensure a timely resolution.
  • Provide second-tier support to end users for either PC, server, or mainframe applications or hardware.
  • Interact with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problem.
  • Simulate or recreates user problems to resolve operating difficulties.
  • Recommend systems modifications to reduce user problems.
Minimum Education Required:
  • AS/AA degree in Computer Science, Information Sciences, or related IT discipline.
  • ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: Six (6) years of related experience for AS/AA degree in addition to minimum experience required (below). 
Minimum Experience Required:
  • Five (5) years of directly related experience supporting help desk Tier 1 operations, preferably supporting a large-scale government customer.
  • One (1) year of IT Problem Solving/Troubleshooting experience.
  • One (1) year of experience with remote management tools.
  • IAT Level II baseline certification (CompTIA Security+) in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program
