Description

COMPUTER SPECIALIST, JOURNEYMAN 

Security Clearance: Active Secret/SSBI or Interim Top Secret to start. 

The selected applicant must have DoD 8570/5239 IAT Level II Certification (Security + CE).


The RDT&E INFRASTRUCTURE DIVISION provides NAVAIR and its government and commercial partners and program communities of interest with enterprise solutions and services to meet the specialized information technology/communications needs required for the complex RDT&E environment. This division develops, operates, and maintains secure, reliable communications and computing infrastructure to RDT&E labs, enabling these labs to develop and test new and innovative weapon systems. The Division provides products, services, and support to ensure an efficient and effective RDT&E infrastructure and operating environment for NAVAIR laboratories, programs, and test events.

The selected applicant will:

  • Analyze science, engineering, business, and other data processing problems to develop and implement solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns.
  • The selected applicants will perform systems management and integration functions, improve existing computer systems, and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and schedule limitations.
  • They may analyze or recommend commercially available software.

Bachelor’s Degree and three to ten (3-10) years of experience in related systems analyst and integration work is required.  Six (6) years’ of additional related work experience or Associate’s Degree and four (4) years’ of additional related work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.

The selected applicant must have DoD 8570/5239 IAT Level II Certification (Security + CE), possess a computing environment certification and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in RDT&E environments.

Security Clearance: Active Secret/SSBI or Interim Top Secret on Day 1. 
Applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
