Description

As a Senior member of the Certification and Accreditation Team, the roles, responsibilities, activities and expectations of this position include the following. A DoD Top Secret clearance is required.

  • Responsible for reviewing Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) packages and providing guidance with respect to the development of Certification and &Accreditation (C&A) documentation.
  • Review and evaluate risk of various C&A packages.
  • Participate in the development of DIACAP C&A Plans, IA Control Implementation Plans, Validation Plans and Validation Reports, system security plans, contingency plans, privacy impact assessments, plans of action and milestones (POA&Ms), and various other required artifacts.
  • Develop mitigations strategies for vulnerability scans and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Analyze vulnerability data through tools such as eMASS, ACAS/Nessus Retina, SCAP Compliance Checker and Vulnerator.
  • Provide direction to team members concerning IA processes and policies.
  • Develop various tools and processes to improve efficiency.
  • Possess an extensive knowledge and practical application/implementation DIACAP to support certification and accreditation of Information Technology (IT) systems and networks.
  • Possess knowledge of the current National Institute of Standards and Technology Special Publication 800 Series in preparation for the DOD Transition from DIACAP to the Department of Defense Risk Management Framework (DODRMF).
  • Deliver risk assessment analysis to the appropriate Team Lead as project milestones are reached.

  • Public Key Infrastructure Technologies

Under general direction, responsible for all activities relating to Information Assurance procedures and systems. Develops information systems assurance programs and control guidelines. Confers with and advises subordinates on administrative policies and procedures and resolving technical problems, priorities, and methods. Consults with and advises other sections regarding internal controls and security procedures. Prepares activity and progress reports relating to the information systems audit function.

Bachelor's degree. Four (4) years of IA or technical background experience can substitute for the Bachelors degree.
