Description

SOLARIS/Linux System Administrator/Systems Engineer - Secret Clearance Required

Rollout Systems is looking for  Solaris System Administrator to support high availability production systems in a China Lake Naval security compliant data center. You will assist in technical engineering programs to implement and maintain operations support tools. You will work closely with network, application, and middleware teams to support Solaris based product installations, customizations, and deployments. You will be responsible for all aspects of Solaris/Linux support including software updates and upgrades, backup and recovery, performance management and capacity planning for the Solaris and Linux environment.  The operational environment currently resides and will be supported on-site at NAWCWD China Lake in Ridgecrest, CA. 

All positions require an active Department of Defense security clearance at a SECRET level, minimum.

 

Job Description

• Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needs.
• Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
• Install and configure systems which support infrastructure and/or R&D activities.
• Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
• Contribute to and maintain system standards.
• Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage resources.

Education

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

Qualifications

8-10 years of related systems engineering experience.
