NOSC SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR
Location: NAS Patuxent River, MD (Southern Maryland)

Security Clearance: Active Top Secret

Full-Time Employee (no C2C or contract)

Awarded in 2020. This contract provides NAVAIR and its government and commercial partners and program communities of interest with enterprise solutions and services to meet the specialized information technology/communications needs required for complex environments. This division develops, operates, and maintains secure, reliable communications and computing infrastructures enabling labs to develop and test new and innovative weapon systems. The Division provides products, services, and support to ensure an efficient and effective operating environment for NAVAIR laboratories, programs, and test events.

Immediate consideration to qualified candidates who meet clearance, certification, education and experience requirements. 

The System Administrator to support Network Operations at NAS Patuxent River, MD will perform operating system installation, configuration and maintenance support using Windows workstation and Server.  The selected applicant will also: 

-Support Tier 1-3 requirements for Systems and Networks
-Participate in on-call support rotation and take ownership of escalated problem resolution.
-Windows and Linux System Administration
-Application Integration support for COTS and GOTS applications in Windows and Linux based environments
-System hardening per DoD standards and generate necessary artifacts
-Installation, maintenance, and removal of specialized software on windows workstations
-Create/maintain documentation/diagrams of computer systems/network environments
-Administration of technical cybersecurity compliance and execution recommendations related to DoD and DoN policies.
-Perform ACAS Scans and support vulnerability remediation
-Troubleshoot issues across multiple environments to include Applications / OS / Networks.
-Assist in the development of certification and accreditation documentation for Navy systems

Education and Work Experience: A Bachelor’s Degree and three to ten (3-10) years of experience in related infrastructure, operating systems and network administration work is required.  Six (6) years of additional related work experience or an Associate’s Degree and four (4) years of additional related work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree. 

Certifications: The selected applicant must have DoD 8570/5239 IAT Level II Certification (Security + CE) and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in RDT&E environments.  

Security Clearance: An active DoD Top Secret clearance is required to start.  Applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
